Led by Byzantine manuscript specialist Georgi Parpulov, this in-person workshop explores the evolution of Greek handwriting, the distinctive scripts used in literary and documentary texts, the physical features of Byzantine books, and the clues offered by paper and watermarks.
Throughout the seminar, participants will develop practical skills for examining manuscripts and uncovering the historical evidence preserved in their pages.
Attendee Requirements: Attendees should have at least two years of graduate-level Classical, Koine, or Byzantine Greek.
